The Standard thickness of most slabs of granite
are 2cm (approx. 3/4") or 3cm (approx. 1 1/4"). |
| |
- How thick will my countertops be?
|
| |
At Granite Creations, the standard thickness of the granite
is 3cm. The breakage rate and the lack of quality in the thinner
products have made 2cm material an undesireable product to
work with. |
| |
- How much does granite weigh?
|
| |
Granite slabs come in different thicknesses. The weight per
sq.ft. for 2cm granite is 12.8lbs. and for 3cm granite is 19.4lbs. |
| |
- Why do I have seams in my countertops and what do they
look like?
|
| |
The raw slab size is usally not large enough for the tops
to not have a seam. The cabinet layout, cooktop, and sink cut-outs
may require seams. The tops may also have to be seamed in order
to avoid extreme waste of material. The seam will be sealed
with a moisture-proof polyester epoxy that is color matched
to the material to minimize visibility. |
| |
- How are the new tops measured?
|
| |
By using a template system. A template is a pattern made
of the future countertops that will be used to produce the
coutertops to your specifications. |
| |
- Can you re-connect my electrical and plumbing installations?
|
| |
Granite Creations is a highly trained contractor for granite
countertop fabrication and installation. We are not electricians
and plumbers. Therefore, we cannot assume any liability for
electrical or plumbing installations. |
